Standard and Poor's is currently seeking a self-motivated bright, and talented individual to intern in our Fixed Income IT department. The qualified candidate will be responsible for assisting in coding, testing, debugging, and documenting simple programs or modules to clear design specifications based on corporate models and frameworks that comply with corporate standards. This role involves learning all stages of the software development process and assisting in implementations.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Building and maintaining applications and components based on standard corporate development models, languages and tools; including unit testing, change management, and implementation.

  • Learning development methodologies and systems development.

  • Participating in internal application reviews

  • Implementing software engineering methods/practices

  • Executes tests of interfaces, parameters, and protocols used by the product and systems architecture

  • Develops the data design with the database team for small systems

  • Interprets requirements documentation and develops simple, unit-level programs and executes unit tests and records outcomes.

  • Assists in resolving defects identified during testing and assists in the execution of user acceptance testing.
